Our Team

Squamish Circus Collective is built and operates because of an amazing community of volunteers and instructors. Our volunteer board of directors can be found below, but there are many more people who make SCC the community it is! We are always seeking volunteers, please reach out if you would like to offer your skillset to support the Squamish Circus Community.

Sarah

Sarah loves building the Squamish Circus community. If you’ve messaged us on Instagram, you’ve likely chatted with Sarah. As an SCC director Sarah does aerial organization, open gym supervision, volunteer event coordination, instructing, and communications. She strongly believes that the circus is for every-body and that a welcoming community is what makes our life worth living. Sarah is a certified aerial silks instructor, yoga teacher, and a passionate knitter. She spends her days finding the perfect words to explain transitions between silks poses, and trying to approach new circus arts with a beginner’s mindset (for her newest skill: ask to see her juggle).

Ellie

Ellie is finally living out her childhood dream of joining the circus! As an SCC director Ellie implements technology, does finances, and coordinates acroyoga and events. She has been training acrobatics and aerial silks for 6 years and is excited to share her passion with the community. She has taught at a prestigious summer camp for the performing arts in the USA as well as coached several other sports at a high level. She has strong social justice and environmental values and is keen to make our circus accessible, inclusive, and low impact! In the air she loves drops, spins, and pops and believes everything is better with some good music accompanying!

Christina

Christina has been practicing aerial silks for the past 10 years. She also dabbles in acroyoga and has made some attempts at learning flow arts As an SCC director Christina does scheduling, social media, and communication. When Christina is not doing circus-y things she is working on her masters and or getting out with her dog hiking and backpacking. She also enjoys finding unusual places to hang silks. She was featured in the short film Silks which made its debut in the Banff Mountain Film Festival. Christina has worked as a gymnastics coach and taught adult and kids silks classes, she is excited to share some fun tricks with you at open training sessions!
